Two posts in two days. I haven’t done that in years.
But I have been very busy crafting since I organized my craft room over the holidays. So I’m sharing 2 new projects before I send them off to my swap partners.
The first one is an altered tin. I used scrapbook paper, tissue tape, and a stamped advertisement on the cover of the tin.
Inside the tin is a fairy from Lisa’s Altered Art, along with several vintage styled sewing notions. She’s a sewing fairy, as you can clearly see.
Here’s another fairy on a chunky ATC.
Some people call a chunky ATC anything that uses big embellishments. But when I googled for it, I kept seeing these blocks of wood with feet and things sticking off of them. And I fell in love with them.
I love the idea of something 3-dimensional to sit on a small shelf, rather than a 2-Dimensional ATC that gets filed away somewhere. Plus, these chunky ATCs have more surface to play with so you can be a little more creative. Here’s the back of this one with a flower…
I’m thinking of writing a photo tutorial on how to make a chunky ATC since I can’t find anything on the web that really covers the subject. The wood blocks are actually quite easy to come by and I would love to join more swaps for these chunky suckers.
Got any feedback on the altered fairies or the chunky ATC subject? I would love to hear from you in the comments section.
