12 Tags of 2013 – April

Another month, another tag for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 challenge.  I made 3 similar tags this month.  Two were sent to swap partners on swap-bot and one is staying with me for now.

Here is the April tag made by Tim Holtz that I’m emulating…

This month was all about using the new distress paints that came out earlier this year.  I bought the paints in broken china and spun sugar for my tag.  But quite frankly, I’m not in love with them and don’t plan to buy more of these.  I prefer the look of the Tim Holtz inks and stains.  These new paints are too bright and don’t have that worn-out, distressed look that I love in the Tim Holtz products.

I liked the technique of stamping onto clear plastic and then melting with a heat gun for a rippled effect for the wings.

May is turning into a busy month for me so I’m cutting back on crafting, swapping and blogging.  But I promised a post about swap-bot so I still plan to finish that and post it this month.

supplies used in my tags:

Tim Holtz supplies:  distress paints in broken china and spun sugar, tissue tape, word sticks, gears, adornments bird charms, trimmings ribbon, distress stains (on ribbon), tag die (cut from recycled chipboard)

NOT Tim Holtz suppies: Stampendous stamp set, wings made of reused plastic packaging, zig zag stitching on my sewing machine

Thanks for opining about the Distress Paints. I’m also a fan of the inks and stains, but I don’t think I’ll spend my money on the paints, knowing how they perform.

I like seeing the deviation of your tags from the Holtz ones.

Once you have found the free Blogger autumn template that you want,
using it is simple. Using this plug-in on a new Ezine account
is also a nearly guaranteed way to achieve platinum status the first time you are eligible for it.

Because of this, it’s important that you make sure your blog backgrounds are
    not boring.

  4. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of thiss
blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lott of times it’s
tough to get that “perfect balance” betwwen user friendliness
and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a
greawt job with this. In addition, thhe blog loads super
fast for me on Safari. Superb Blog!
